Veloce Register Updated-Convention Comments
My friends,
At the convention I was blessed to recieve a box of surveys from Tom Sahines taken in the 1980's of who owned 750-101 cars, that ran in the Alfa Owner. Russ Baer was the one who compiled the information and it is very extensive. It has been time consuming and I haven't even scratched the surface on trying to figure out how to put all of this information into a data base, but I am proceeding.
One of the revelations that has come from building this website is that I am now the 4th person to run a Sprint Speciale Register. It has been Leslie Hegedus, Ron McCloud, Thomas Humphrey and now myself. I have compiled as accurate SS register as has ever been and it is posted on my website. Ron McCloud had a lot of cars to add from his work in the 70's. That information was checked against the information Thomas Humphrey had compiled. Leslie Hegedus has been non responsive to any inquiries.
There are more SS's out there, Great Britain, S.Africa, Australia and Japan are still untapped resources for SS's. I am hoping that the Brits will kick in on this website with their cars, as there is an extensive group of cars not yet even mentioned on my website.
The 750 Spider Veloce register has an extensive data base now of cars. I added alot of cars from Russ Baers efforts. Some of the cars now have history links and photographs associated with them.
The 101 Veloce register has added cars and photographs from the convention that were not on the list. I updated 390215, 390219, 390287. I still have more photos from the convention to upload and will be doing that over the next week.
The Sprint Veloce register has added alot of cars from the Russ Baer effort.
Remember, I can't be everywhere, so if you can help me find cars to add, your efforts are appreciated. Some of the names have links associated with them about the cars prior history.
The submission page got its CGI script written and now you can send me your information directly from the website. Also there is an email link there to send photographs. If you find a broken link, please let me know off the list.
Ads, brochures, photographs (old and current) manuals are all appreciated to add to this website. I have lots of space.
Lastly, I was taken away with the quality of the cars at the car show. Going in I knew it was going to be awesome with some possible 100 point cars. The quality of preparation was more than I could have imagined. The GTV's were extraordinary. The 750-101 spiders- I am glad I didn't judge that category! I don't know how you picked a winner.
Enjoy,
Christopher Boles
