Back from Italy

Hi all,
I returned from italy earlier this week. It was a blast. Skipping to the
cool and relevant part, I bought a Lancia Thema 8.32 engine - for those of
you who do not know, this is the V8 3.0 32V Ferrari engine that was
mounted in the 308 GTB/GTS models, with slightly different cams. Stock, it
is not as powerful as the 24V alfa because Ferrari depowered it so the
Thema would not outperform the 308, but with a few mods, it should be a
blast (Plus is has dual throttle bodies and says Ferrari on the intake
plenum).
Got some pics from the junkyard. I almost got a picture of a 164 being
crushed but my camera was in the car. Perhaps that's a good thing.

I saw a couple of nice Q4s this time and did lots of fun, budget
travelling (sleeping in the Fiat and camping).
I also brought back some parts for those of you who are interested.

Euro Instrument Cluster (in km/h!)
Euro taillights
Euro center taillight (Same as LS and Q)
Euro turn signals
Foglight blanks
Rearview mirror

All the stuff is used, not new. Yes, I enjoy rummaging through junkyards.
Unfortunately, junkyards are charging a lot more these days because of the
inflation due to the Euro. Sad but true. What used to cost 100.000 Lire,
now costs 100 Euros. This is pretty much true for all places that "invent"
prices on the fly. Grocery stores, gas stations, etc. have not changed,
but junkyards are a little out of hand. I usually make an offering price
in Lire so it sounds bigger! (2000 lire ~= 1 Euro).

later,
