1750 v 2000

Hate to start up the 1750 v 2000 thread again, but I'm tossing up whether to
rebuild the spare 1750 motor I have for my GTV or maybe trying to track down
a 2 litre to drop in. I would like to have a bit more go than a standard
1750, although the car still needs to be driven on a daily basis (ie. 10548
cams etc). Anyone out there have experience with modified 1750s (streetable)
and how well they compare with standard/modified 2 litres. I realise that
ultimately the 2 litre (modified?) will be faster but will the difference be
that great/noticeable?
