Rich and Rich:

Before you do anything else, please check to make sure that none of your 
brake lights are burned out.  I had a similar symptom on my 164 right after I 
bought it and fixing the brake bulb fixed it.  They were not on all the time 
but only when the blinker was on or the brake pedal depressed, but it's worth 
a shot.  Just trying to help-
