re: 1969 Spider - starts, then stops

Keith Macdonald's 1750 Spider starts but won't run:

This does sound like a fuel supply problem. If the car has been in storage
for a few years, the fuel in the tank, filter, and carburetor float bowls
may have turned to varnish. It would probably be a good idea to drain out
the old fuel, replace the filter, and refill with fresh fuel. The carbs
can also get gummed up after prolonged sitting. They may need a good
cleaning before the engine will run properly.

best of luck,
