You're assuming that the ECU behaves properly (or at all) beyond where the
rev limiter kicks in.  That may not be the case (although it's reasonable to
assume).  If it's not the case, then simply swapping the resistor that
determines the rev limit may not give you the results you're expecting.

I've used both the Zat and the Kirshtein/DiMatteo ECU's, both seem similar
to me.  I've heard of instances where the Zat ECU results in uneven engine
rumble at lower RPM's (just above idle).

There used to be a web page that got into the Bosch ECU and identified which
resistors did what.  If you can find it, it's easy enough to swap around the
resistors yourself.  However, I know that DiMatteo/Kirshtein did a *lot* of
R&D, including blowing up more than a couple of engines in the process.  How
many of those engines were toasted as a result of dinking around with the
rev limiter, and how many were blown as a result of playing with other
parameters, I do not know.
