Prominent owners of cars

Does having a prominent previous owner really make an Alfa more valuable??

The reason I ask is that there is a 2600 Sprint on Ebay that is listed as a ex-Pat Braden car. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=601602225&tc=photo5356)

It seems that the current owner isn't trying to take advantage of it- more of a FIY thing ($1500 opening bid, no reserve).

But, lets say that he was trying- does a Braden, Benson, Don Black, Paul Tenney, etc... pvs owner make a car more valuable? Of course, if it were Horst Q.(sp?), Nuvolari, or Ferrari, that is a different story. What I want to ponder are the historic club people or people vital the Alfa US... Perhaps the Grinch is a bad example- he did have success racing. And Don supported racing in a manner that most of us can't believe.

Anyway, what do you think?
