164 L low voltage (intermittent)

Anyone got any diagnostic tips on fixing a '91 164 L that's
starting to have varying voltage? Car has been OK until a
week ago (always read 14V on the gauge), and now when I
start it, it will run between 12 and 13V. Sometimes after
warming up, the voltage reading will go back up to 14, other
times not. The car has also been randomly stumbling very
slightly when the voltage readings are low. Any thoughts?
I suppose this could be something in the instrument cluster,
as the oil pressure reading is higher when the voltage
reading is low (poor ground to the cluster?). That wouldn't
explain the stumbling, though...
