Alfa web ring changes?

I got an email a couple days ago saying that the Alfa web ring, which my
Berlina Register page (www.berlinaregister.com) is part of, will be
migrating from Yahoo Webring to Web Ring. The email's tone sounded as if I
had missed several earlier message about it, but I'm sure I didn't get any
others.  Did other folks with Alfa web ring pages get the same email, and
follow the steps to register with Web Ring?  That seemed to be all that was
required. No need to recode the links on the page?  This isn't some
sales-oriented hoax is it?
