Re: Alfa Racing History

Whoaaa- I can't say where my brain was when I made that statement about
Porsche's F1 efforts being miniscule, obviously I was wrong because I
overlooked the TAG turbo cars of the early '80s (admittedly an era of waning
F1 interest for me).
Porsche did indeed design and sell that motor! My hat is off to them,
apologies to the Offended Ones.
But to offer up excuses for any marque not electing to participate in a given
series of motorsport, therefore we shouldn't compare, I still don't buy that
reasoning. Oh, I have the LeMans video, and believe me I love watching
those Gulf 917 long-tail speed beasts, but I just get a bit worked up when I
hear of Alfa's racing heritage being minimized. Nuvolari demonstrated quite
convincingly that just because it's German machinery and is painted silver,
it's not necessarily unbeatable, even at home.
To answer Henry's first question though (which I got carried away and never
did), try going to alfaromeo.com, the factory website. Hey, I'm Alfista,
OK?

(I am staying out of the Ford vs. Ferrari thing though, it's all
speculation...)
