re: 105 GTV Trunk Weatherstripping

The standard seal for those of us in Seattle, and we know rain, consists using
a split piece of rubber tubing on the body's trunk lip and CLOSED cell
weather stripping on the trunk lid. The rubber tubing protects the weather
stripping from the metal edge and helps make a better seal. Be sure to start
and end the weather stripping at the bottom just above the latch. On many GTVs
the source of trunk water is not from the trunk seal but from unsealed holes
where the rear wing windows don't fit good at the C-pillar. Any gap there and
water will just pour into your trunk as its channeled down the rain gutter.
The trunk seal will improve the fume problem as will a slight extension on
your tailpipe. I'm assuming you drive in the summer with windows down and if
so no amount of trunk seal will eliminate fumes.
