RE: Milano forest fire?

Matt,

This is very common to Milano's. More than one Milano has been totaled
because of heater box fires. The leaves enter from under the cowling and are
ignited by the fan motor resistor pack. Put a piece of window srcreen over
the heater box opening located in the center of the car beneath the
windshield cowling. Cleaning out the leaves is a royal pain, it is done by
removing the fan motor cover located in the drivers footwell in the center
console.

Subject: Milano forest fire?

....

I ran the fan some more, and the the smell eventually went away. I'm
thinking that some leaves got sucked into the heater box and somehow got
burnt. Anyone had this experience? If it was indeed burnt leaves, what
would cause them to get hot enough to smolder? Thanks.

Matt
