Check your plug wires, or MSD Ignition.  Technically, if nothing changed since the last time you drove it, it should run just like it did before you shut it off.

However, if the ignition has been mistimed somehow (hence plug wires or MSD), you could fire plugs at the wrong time.  I've mistakenly miswired the Alfa V6's in the past (a loooong time ago) and yes, they do make that horrid explosion and in some cases, will cause a small fire.

Timing belt timing should cause poor running once started, but it is worth checking anyway.
