Try this: hook a cable to the right latch rod from below and
pull it sideways with a long lever pivoting on the exhaust.  This
may require some effort.

Your motor mount(s) are probably worn out.  The engine has shifted
forward, and the alternator has crushed the sheet metal slot that
guides the hood-release rod.  Once you get the hood open, check and
replace the motor mounts -- especially the right front.  After the
mounts are in, straighten out the sheet metal slot.

Do the motor mounts first because the slot will likely be bent
further during installation of the mounts.
