164 alarm
Why not begin with solving your lack-of-key problem and then take care of the
batery?
In US, according to ARDONA and to a very small research i made, there's no
way out by finding a suitable blank key and bringing the whole assembly to a
locksmith. As far as replacing the whole lock, i was unable to find an
electrical switch-lock with dual set of connections.I then tried to use a
relay for the second set of connections and a simple set-lock.It didn't work
right. So i replaced it with a switch, the way i heard it is done. Now, in UK,
you surely CAN buy a key so why not do that. It's quite simple to remove and
disconnect the siren.Even if it'll go off, that won't last that long. Also,
i've seen in an old "Accesori" catalog an upgraded after-sale version of the
alarm that probably dealers would install. It features the same siren but a
beefier module that this time lifts the windows up if they're left down when
you arm it and had the sunvisor-mounted ultrasonic sensors.By now such kits
destined for the 164 are probably sitting in a corner swallowing dust , so
you might be able to get one cheap and it's a plug-and-play.
