Here's my two cents on this topic. When the system is properly adjusted you
normally never have to fuss with it (assuming that your T/A is not going
south). The oil vapor separator can get clogged over time if neglected and
this causes oil to get siphoned up the line to the idle air regulator which
eventually will mess up all of the rubber idle air hoses and the O-ring in
the adjuster itself. If your idle is too low with the adjuster wide open
then either the idle air circuit is clogged or your idle mixture is too
rich. Adjusting the throttle stop is not the way to fix this because the
idle air circuit bypasses the throttles which should all be fully closed.
