75/Milano rear door opening problem fixed

I found that the rear doors insides can be accessed without being able
to open the door. The fabric covered part can be pulled off which gives
enough access to allow the main door panel to be pulled off.
The lock mechanism can then be seen using a torch and a mirror. To open
my door I had to push the lever which is operated by the outside handle
outwards first and then the mechanism worked OK. It seems that if the
lever sticks the door will still latch closed but the opening lever is
somehow disengaged. On my lock unit the lever was in need of lubrication
and had stuck.
Getting the lock out involves undoing four screws holding the lock to
the door frame, disconnecting two wires for the lock actuator and closed
switch and removing the door lock actuator to get enough spacce to get
it out. The two actuating rods are secured by nylon clips which clip to
the rod and must be pushed off the rods with a screwdriver or similar
long pointed object. If you dont release these first you will break them
AMHIK.
Refitting the lock after cleaning and greasing is a real pain as you
will need to push in the aforementioned lever whilst shuffling the lock
in to position and holding the torch and mirror with your other three
hands.
Hope this helps somebody.
