164 S windshield washer resevoir indicator on all the time

I just pulled the wheel and liner off to check the resevoir and sensors.
No, that isn't it.

Some time ago, my mechanic managed to replace the stepper motor without
pulling the dash out so I guess he disturbed something in the guts ot the
indicator panel; or on it's way there.

Does anybody else have any suggestions before I start rooting around in
there ?
