RE: 16V 164?

The last major update to the 2.0litre twin-spark was in 1994 - body changes for
the Super, interior changes (esp A/C) and a move to electronic ignition. My
first 164 twin spark has a pair of distributors for ignition, my later one had
Bosch Electronic that was prone to corrrosion at the end of the plug leads.
The engine, otherwise, was the same as the older Alfa 4 cylinder engines - in
fact didn't look a lot different to my earlier '69 GTV apart from being across
the chassis. The newer engine fitted to the GTV and Spider is pretty much a
FIAT derirative as far as I could ever tell and didn't seem to possess as much
grunt.
