Sounds like this was done the hard way...
Your best friend on the front is a hacksaw, with which you cut the shell
and then knock it out with a punch... easy. Good hand tools are the
trick.

I have done 2 sets of these in the driveway without exotic tools, and
our shop only charges 3 hours for both sides. It isn't any more
difficult than it is made. NO modifications need to be made to the
bushings to get them to fit.
