The Pertronix ignitor system I fitted to the 1750 GTV prior to passing
it
on to its new owner lasted from Perth to halfway between Sydney and
Brisbane.  That makes 3 failures out of 3 aftermarket electronic
ignition
systems I have fitted over the past 10 years.  One alternative is to go
to
Marelli Plex, but the new owner has had quotes of around the 1k mark for

what is essentially a 15 year old system.  I recall that one
Melbournian(?)
sourced a Bosch electronic system from a Camira(?).  Anyone able to help
me
on this?

I have heard of failures of this brand. A good friend of mine had one
that was defective right out of the box. A local VW aftermarket
specialist quit selling them because of the problems. He offers a
similar-looking unit from "Compufire", which he claims is more reliable.
