nuts under hood

Normally nuts under the hood on an Alfa is a description of the owner
trying to
fix a problem.
I suspect that the castlated nuts are from the front caster arms (the one=
s
that poke
through the inner wing). My guess is that your mechanic used fresh nuts a=
nd
forgot
to dispose of the old ones (or couldn't find them so had to use fresh
nuts.)
The serations are for locking the nut in place with a split pin.
