Grinding Spring

Hello,

The right rear spring is grinding against the rotating
[I don't know what it's called] rod which turns the
rear wheel.

I believe that repositioning the spring would correct
the problem.  How do I go about responsitioning the
spring on an '88 Milano Gold automatic?
