I think it depends on the application. On exhaust systems, the heat will
destroy Loctite anyway, so use anti-sieze to keep things from rusting
together which they WILL do. Use anti-sieze on head nuts because you need
to retorque them periodically. Defintely use antisieze on spark plugs to
keep from tearing threads out of the head. Many of the other random bolts 
on Alfas are self-locking, as fitted by the factory. Things like clutch 
cover bolts, flywheel bolts, tranny case bolts, etc. are ideal cases for 
Loctite because it's a real PITA if they come loose. Things inside the 
motor that have their own locking devices should just be oiled to get the 
most consistent torque readings.

Here's another great use for anti-sieze: rub a SMALL amount on the back
of your brake pads, and brake squeal goes away. Some Japanese car makers
actually give this procedure in their shop manuals.
