Anti-seize VS Lock tight

O.K.

All this talk has me wondering ... for those of us (me) that aren't "in the 
know" 

I know you use anti-seize on thinks like spark plugs, but I thought a thread 
locker was used on most other nuts and bolts to keep them from falling off.

How do you know to use Anti-seize as opposed to a thread locker?
Do thread lockers prevent corrosion as well, or vise-versa?
