105 GTV Body Authenticity Question

Ciao, Alfisti.  A quick question.  At some point in the past, a PO painted
the rockers and corresponding lower sections of the front and rear valances
of my 69 GTV black.  I want to bring them back to body color, but am not
sure of the proper texture for these areas.  The rockers now appear to have
a "pebbled" or "hammered" texture, but this could have been added with the
black paint.  What should the lower border of the car look like - no
different from rest of body, or textured?
