Spider Valve Adjustment

I just had the valves on my 88 Spider Veloce adjusted.
The mechanic said the intake side was fine, but the exhaust side had been 
tight.  Since the adjustment, I hear a slight ticking.  It's nothing 
terrible, but
it didn't do it before the adjustment.  Since I waited 6 weeks for the 
valve
cover gasket to come in, I'm not overly excited about taking the car back
in for another look....  unless there is really a problem.  Is a slight 
ticking
atypical for a Spider?
