Difference in Tires

Steve writes about having replaced his original (?) Michelin 185/70-14's
with 195/65-14 P4000's. I don't know much about the P4000, but I think
the change in size is a step in the right direction. I recently reshod
my spider with 195/60-14 P600's (not my first choice, but got 'em real
cheap) and am happy with the overall "feel" of the tire, much of which I
attribute to change in width/profile. I think the difference in overall
diameter (and hence, speedo accuracy) is pretty negligible. Based on
what I've read here, 195/60-14's and 205/60-14's will also work on the
6x14 rims. My next purchase will probably be 195/60-14 Yoko AVSi.
But Steve, what do you mean by "squeal"? And how many miles do you have
on the tires; are they broken in yet?
Perhaps someone out there has more familiarity with P4000's, and talk
more authoritatively about the particular tire. But I would encourage
you to use 195's over the stock 1985.
Good luck.
