cold start solenoid stuff

I've been told that my 73 GTV needs to have the Cold start solenoid adjusted
because it is smokey at first start(Black not blue) but warms up and runs
fine. SOOO the question is which way to turn it to lean it out a bit? Any
ideas? Thanks Bob Brooks 73 GTV trying to quit a nasty habit
