sticking GTV-6 tach/speedo

Greetings-
My tach and speedo are sticking because the pointers have bent back against
the dial, presumably due to age and heat.  I took the tach out of the dash,
tried gently to straighten the pointer and it cracked - not all the way
through, but enough to show that this approach won't work.  The easiest fix
might be to simply snap it right off and glue it back at a shallower angle.
 Has anyone found a better solution?
