Alfa 155 2.0 TS troubleshooting

Hello out there

I am an old fashion Alfa driver, which at last has replaced the god old
Alfetta - which I now have been driving in 10 years daily without any
problems - with one of these new frontwheel driven plastic Alfa's. I
have a major problem with it: it "stutters" in the range 1500 rpm - 1800
rpm's. The engine has now run 180000 km and it is a standard 2.0 TS from
1992. Any suggestions??
