Milano sunroof stuck open

Ok...my 89 Milano's sunroof is stuck in the "tilted up" position.   The motor
works...I can here and feel that it is engaging but it appears that there must
be a gear stuck or related problem that keeps it from winding down and
closing.

The sunroof was in perfect working order without any of the typical
problems...

Any suggestions?
