giubos

Just a brief comment re: Giubos.. My '65 Lotus Elan used 2 on each
halfshaft. They are referred to as "Rotoflex" couplings on Lotii.
There was a subsequent beefed up donut referred to as a "Sprint"
coupling. These had a metal plate midway between each mounting hole
rather than just continuous rubber. This reduced flex, but I'm not sure
if it added to the life of the coupling or not. Hard to gauge as the
reliability factor of the vehicle did not lend itself to an
un-interrupted road test.

Would CV joints in the place of Giubos stress the drivetrain
excessively?
