Excuse me for jumping in again but...

1) Adjusting wheel bearings by torque is ONE way of doing it.
2) Adjusting wheel bearings by "feel" is another. (AND PROBABLY THE MORE
ACCEPTED)
3) It ain't that critical ... AS LONG AS YOU DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE NUT.
4) The most common way to tighten the nut, at least in the U.S. by the
mechanics I know, is:
a) Tighten it by feel, with the wheel rotating, until you _feel_ starting to
drag. 
b) Loosen the nut. 
c) Tighten the nut until you can just move the washer with a medium size flat
blade screwdriver. 
d) Insert cotter pin. 
e) If it is not aligned LOOSEN nut and insert pin.

Also, do not over pack the cavity with grease.
Over packing and over tightening are bad.
