     <My '74 GTV has the old-style (non-impact) bumpers and, as far as I 
     <know, the same smog equipment as pre-'74 cars.  The '74 Spyder has 
     <bumpers upgraded from the '73's.  Also of course the '75's (Spyder 
     <and Alfetta) has "improved" bumpers and smog equipment.
     
     FYI - In the USA, the Spider had a minor "upgrading" of the bumpers 
     between the '72 and '73 model years. (not '73-'74). To my knowledge 
     the 1973 and 1974 spiders are identical EXCEPT for the ingnition 
     interlock system (mess) on the '74's.
