Alfasud Sprint handbrake cable replacement

Marty

It should be possible to replace the handbrake
cable without dropping the engine (never done so,
but friends have managed it). Consider using cable
ties to pretension the spring. Brake pads are fairly
easy to do but very time consuming on twin carb
engine, the the gearstick rattle is probably just
the rubber bushes in the linkage.

For the brake calipers make sure you have a 7mm
socket and a 7mm spanner handy.

Cambelts can be done with the engine in place. The =

only thing to watch out for is the drivers side (rhd)
cam which will not stay in position unless held (so
you normally need to put the belt on twice on that
side!).

All the best

Keith
