The 1999 salon will be held from 11 to 21 March. The entrance fee is
usually very reasonable - probably around CHF 10 - but this is quite a
large show spread over several halls, so you should count on a full day
just to get around it fairly superficially. In addition to the car and
component manufacturers, the design houses like Bertone are represented
and there is quite a large area devoted to accessories and service
equipment of all kinds. Avoid the first weekend if you can as it is
usually crowded then.
Palexpo is located just a few minutes walk from Geneva airport or the
airport rail station. The auto museum is on the spot, too, and there is
usually a special combined entrance rate for the salon and the museum.
A hint: Alfa Romeo offer a reception to one of the local clubs on 13
March and the Alfa-labelled pseudo-champagne bottles make nice
souvenirs. Now don't let on where you heard it's on the first floor of
the stand at 5 pm and they don't usually check club membership cards....
Enjoy!
