164 antenna

Hi again Jonathan
What i havw seen is plain brutal drilling of the rear driver's fender and
instalation of an antenna of the type US models have.At that time, we hadn't
seen an US 164 but the owner of that place knew better .What I think I mean?I
think i mean that even the euro 164 has a "predisposizione" in that particular
place with some brackets and there is a "factorry accepted" antena that bols
on.I forget iname, but was an italian make. They brutally (lol) used a drilling
machine and bolted everything on, elliminating the ECU from the circuit. The
owner reported better-than-new radio reception. The story repeated itself
couple times.
It seams that at the time of the launching to the market of the 164, the
strong point, the imphasis was on the drag coefficient (known as CX in Eu),
and the incorporated antenna was meant actually to underline the extremes to
wich the designers went sa far as that.In that same idea, i have seen a
factory comercial, where the 164 is lined up with a comparable BMW and MB and
the test is kinda weird:each car has attached in it's back a "panitcracker"
that is fused to a testcomputer and is meant to be activated when the car
slows down under a certain speed. What they tell you is that the slowdown is
mainly because of drag, so they all accelerate to like 60MPH and then go to
neutral, and then the 164 shoots last..
Rarely they went with the comercials for what you'd expect. In the comercial
for the RZ they went with it being able to pull the most G's
Well i hope this helps you
