Alfa 33

Peter

The speedo is electronically driven from a sensor
on the gearbox reading teeth on the diff. Unless =

you new speedo is faulty, the only 2 problems
I can think of are a badly routed wire which is
getting interference or possibly that the speedo
has the wrong ratio. On the 1.3 and 1.5 the diff
is a lower ratio than the 1.7 and 16v, and the
speedi may be different to match.

For the power loss, check that the cam belt timing =

is correct. This is very easy to get wrong, especially
the one on the side of the oil filter. Set the engine
to TDC and pull out the small rubber grommets
from above each pulley wheel. The central tooth
in the hole should have a small V shapped cutout
on either side of it. With the timing one tooth out
the car will run but not be as smooth or powerful
as it could be.

The tailgate spoiler may fit, but the whole rear
bodywork is quite different. The front bumper
would certainly not fit without major changes

All the best

Keith
