Groaning brakes

Hello all,

A quick question associated with an Alfetta Sedan's brakes. Recently, mine
have begun making a loud groaning sound, much like metal fatigue. Obviously
this has me concerned. It only occurs in the wet, and only under light
application of the brakes. It is more frequent when cornering, but this
morning it also occurred when travelling in a straight line as I pulled into
a petrol station. It is difficult to determine from which end of the car
the sound is emanating. From memory, it had new front pads and rotors
approximately 20,000 kms ago and new rear pads approximately 10,000 kms ago.
Could it be a sign of worn bushings somewhere allowing play in the
suspension system, or even metal to metal contact of some sort? Any ideas
welcome before I haul it off to my mechanic for diagnosis (a little bit
beyond my ability to sort out).

Cheers,

Toby.
