The switch turns the warning light on and off. The warning light is
for the level of fluid in the auto gearbox, and the sensor is on the
right so the level goes up on left hand corners and the light comes
on. The light is ON when there is sufficient fluid in the gearbox and =

OFF when the level is too low.

The gearbox is a pain to fill up as you need to do it from under
the car with a small syringe. With the engine running and the
gearbox up to temperature, put the car into park, unbolt the 17mm
filler bolt and top up until it just starts to overflow.
