sidedraught Webers or Dellortos, I wonder if anyone can suggest
how one would go about checking for a possible vacuum leak

braden recommends a gadget called a colourtune in his weber
book (an excellent must-own for weber tinkerers). it fits in the
spark plug hole and you watch the mixture colour. one cyl
will come up lean if there is an air leak.
i think a vacuum gauge in front of the venturi would show
a weak pull too. use this same gauge for precise syncronization.
hope this helps.
