164 repairs

I have been doing some serious maintenance on my 168(4) recently.
There's nothing like having the transaxle to your baby sitting in the
carport... Makes the neighbors wonder...

Changing the clutch in this car is actually pretty simple. Lots of time
consuming parts removal, but it has gone so well that I am nervous...(my
first clutch job). I found that getting all the parts, gaskets etc. in
advance, makes life less stressful.

I used all Alfa parts for the clutch job, and I can only encourage
folks to use their local Alfa dealer, if you have one, for parts.
Anything we can do to encourage these people to keep the parts and
service departments open is good for everyone.

If anyone has questions on the various procedures of any of the
following, please ask, I'll try to share what I learned while doing the
job. I won't discuss the joy of perfect tranny alignment only to realize
I had faile to replace the new thrust bearing... :o( oops!

- -clutch assembly
- -a-arm bushings to urethane
- -shifter bushings
- -rear main seal
