1750 rostri ai paraurti

In AD7-061 Marcus Alley asks weighty questions about GT Veloce bumpers.

The "extensions" he refers to are usually called "bumper guards" in the USA,
"rostri ai paraurti" (I think) in Italy. The late 1750s and 2000s had
identical stainless-steel bumpers with a slightly angular section, differing
slightly around the parking-lights on the European and USA versions. (European
parking-lights above, and the bumpers recessed slightly; US parking lights
below, with a continuous section to the bumper). The earlier 1750 had bumpers
with a more rounded section, similar to if not identical with the 1600; these
did not have bumper guards. The 1300 Junior, not officially imported here, had
the same bumpers as the 1750s, but without the bumper guards. They are easily
removed, or added; the 1300 Junior has the holes, but a smooth-headed bolt
plugging them.

They do add a little protection, but not much. Keeping or removing is a
question of taste and risk-tolerance. The bumper guards are certainly not a
great aesthetic advantage.

Enjoy it, anyhow.
