in re: THERMOSTAT

Thomas Baumen was asking about using a different thermostat, instead of the
175 that was currently installed. I dunno know for shure, but I reckon that
since thermostats aren't exactly rocket science, that there would be a VERY
small measurable difference between a 175 and a 180, which I believe was
recommended, at least on my year car. Production tolerances, I would guess,
make the two almost a match. i.e. a 175 might open later then some 180s, or
vice versa.

Take this with whatever size grain of salt you wish. I think that just having
a good, working thermostat in close the right range would be fine. Anyone
else?

76 Alfetta GT (happy with it's 180, which was replaced shortly after I took
possession - btw I play this game, sort of, watching the temp gauge to see
when the T-stat opens and closes. With no radio, on the freeway, you have to
find small pleasures where/when you can.)
