Well, here is anecdotal evidence that guards or overriders were standard on at
least the 1971 1750 GTVs.  Mine came with them in 1971.  Every piece of
literature I have for the 1750, sales brochures (3 types), owners manual, Road
Test summaries, Alfa ads in Playboy, Road & Track 10 Best, show the guards.
