[alfa] Stupid looking Alfas

Well now maybe the Disco Volante is your cup of tea but I say there goes a stupid looking car that might grow on you, maybe if you take the right drugs often enough and I don't mean prescription drugs. Even worse is that postwar GT coupe (can't remember the designation, but Alan de Cadenet drives one on the Victory by Design series and loves it but only from the inside surely, oh and I mean post WW II not the original WW now referred to as WWI). I can safely opine that BMW does not have a monopoly on ugly design briefs.

The prettiest mass production car ever made has to be the Bertone GTV from the late 60's to the inception of the Alfetta GT. There are certainly more interesting designs but has the pure perfection of size, line and stance ever been equalled by anyone anywhere for under multi $$$?

I mean even the late 60's early 70's BMW 3.0 coupe is not as tight and complete a design, though pretty good looking for a German car (as an aside has anyone seen what appallingly ugly cars the Germans are trying to pass off as stylish these days? I mean the Bangle Beemers are breathtakingly ugly, even a Pontiac Aztec has some intellectual honesty about it by comparison, but the newest Mercedes coupe/sedan and the newer Audis are just butt ugly and make even Bangle designs look halfway reasonable)

Cheers (and too bad I'm long in the torso 6 footer or I might look for one of those Bertone GTV gems, even though I prefer the feel of the GTV6).

Michael
