Thanks to all who responded to my emergency call for help. I finally
found the problem: the rubber duct from the air flow sensor had come
loose at the connection over the top of the engine resulting in a large
gulp of unmetered air. The resulting engine hiccup was severe enough to
trip the inertia sensor and shut off power to the fuel pumps. Studying
the schematics at length, I managed to identify most of the relevant
pieces and connections except for the inertia switch. Once I had found a
reference to an inertia switch the rest was easy. An experience like
this, while initially frustrating, is quite valuable as I now have a
much better understanding of the fuel system and won't be so easily
stumped next time.
Thanks again for all the suggestions.
