Re:[alfa] Spider Veloce Power Window Slowness

T,
Before you remove the inner panel for access to the electric motor,
check out the window switch first. Could be that the contacts are going and
the switch needs to be replaced. Pretty easy to pull it out and have a
look-see at the contact. I've replaced mine when the copper strips were
literally full of holes from arcing. IAP sells replacement units.

Return Policy: There was an article in the Wash. Post about about woman
who tried to return an item she bought but was refused because the records
showed that she returned too many items in the past - and not always from
that store. Let this be a warning to you.....

Subject: [alfa] Spider Veloce Power Window Slowness
Gang:
I have an 1986 Spider Veloce. As the weather is just now starting to
cool down in North Carolina, I noticed that the driver's side power
window seems to be having trouble going down (i.e. it is real slow). Up
seems to be no problem.
Because up seems to work (and down worked in hot weather), my guess is
that it is a lubrication issue versus a motor issue. Any tips on
getting this fixed? I am pretty new to working on Alfas, so pointers to
resources about getting the door panels off, etc., would also be much
appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
