[alfa] Re: gtv6 exhaust manifold studs

    Thanks for the flowers but the wrench was a really small pipe wrench and
not a monkey wrench.
    If you want to save the studs, the double nut method seems to work the
best.  But, if the stud is damaged and you just want to get it out, the small
pipe wrench works miracles.

Hi Scott,
I had this same problem when servicing the starter motor.  IIRC, the
extraction on mine, done by a local alfa-saviour named  Skip (once again), was
done two ways:  of two bolts, one came out with a miniature monkey wrench and
liberal soakage in PB-Blaster, while the other required being ground flat and
tapped out.  Mine were significantly rusted out, so you might have better luck
with the monkey wrench method.
